To squat to live
It’s obvious that we cannot predict lifespan. That being said, it doesn’t stop researchers form looking into the issue and spot some markers.
A Brazilian doctor developed a specific test that stipulates that, if you flunk the test, your risk of dying in the next five years could increase by five versus if you are able to actually complete the test.
Are you curious? Here is how to perform the test:
1) Stand tall, shoeless and legs crossed.
2) Without holding on to anything, squat down so you can sit.
3) Stand back up without support.
It’s obvious that, in the context where you find a postural imbalance, it can be more difficult to recruit the right muscles to be successful in such a test. What if living a long life had to do with being physically fit? Who would have thought, right?
